59 Terrigal, Central Coast, NSW - Custom Built Homes
Rob and I are delighted to take the time to extend our appreciation to you for the wonderful job you did in building our home in Terrigal. We have now been in our home at 59 Terrigal almost a year, we are very thankful for the opportunity we had in building our new home with you.
Since initially meeting with you prior to knocking down our existing property, we have been impressed with your communication and follow-ups. You actively listened to us through the entire process starting with our ideas, designs and plans and continued throughout the build.
Our home reflects the quality of your workmanship, and because you worked creatively and diligently with us, we are very satisfied and proud of our home. We are very grateful for your help with planning and guiding us through the knock down, excavation and the entire construction process. We are very happy with the way you communicated with us both personally and via emails and built a comfortable relationship with us that was both professional and friendly. We were delighted that you delivered construction timeframes, that kept the build on target and therefore allowed us to make timely decisions on planning our financial costs, and therefore minimised unnecessary outgoings. We were always clear on the timelines and the budget was adhered to. We found any additional financial charges for changes to plan were very fair. In particular we were impressed with your attention to detail, and this is especially evident in the detail around the ceiling and cornice design, the shadow-lines and cut in niches and the lighting plan that make our home unique. We were impressed with your organizational skills, and your ability to communicate andidentify timelines with sub contractors, ensuring a good work flow. The quality of the craftsmanship continues to impress us. We are always getting compliments from family and friends on the design and workmanship of our home. We truly feel that our home was truly custom designed for us, and we love it and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Adbuild
We want to thank you again for building our dream home.
Craig Smythe from Adbuild Constructions has successfully completed some reconstruction and repair work on my property on the NSW Central Coast over the last 5 years.
Recently, I have acquired a large acreage with a small partly-completed 1 bedroom dwelling on the NSW Mid-North Coast. The original design was extensively changed and a 2 bedroom environmentally sustainable house, with an office was approved for construction. The house was to be built using a post and rail design with custom-orb in-fills. It was ‘off the grid’ so this added to the challenge of construction.
The original house frames required extensive remedial works before proper construction could start, so I re-engaged Craig to complete the building works to ‘lock-up’ stage, before local contractors and I finished off the fit out.
In spite of the long distance involved, and the difficulties of the site, Craig completed the works on a timely basis and to a very high standard. His attention to detail and proper preparation resulted in a quality result admired by both my family and all who visit the property.

Adbuild was recommended to me by a friend. I am grateful for the recommendation and could not be happier with both the service and the finished product. From the moment I contacted Craig his service was faultless. He was generous with his time in helping me decide on a design for the deck I wanted built, and his suggestions and ideas were creative. The quotation process was painless, and Craig carefully explained the pros and cons of various material and construction methods.Once the work began, Craig’s meticulous attention to detail was nothing less than amazing! He took so much care with finishing the deck to the highest possible standard. People say that tradesmen are unreliable, untidy and careless –that is definitely not the case with Craig.

We first met Craig in 1998 by a recommendation from a friend. We found his appearance, manner & work vehicle presentation to be impressive & professional both during his initial site visit & through-out the construction process.
Craig listened to our idea's of what we were after in an outdoor area with unusual style. From our idea's Craig was able to design an outdoor entertainment area that was practical, artistic & within our budget that would blend in with our house & property. This was a difficult task as the proposed area faced south with a "L" shape house & with plenty of surrounding trees. Craig designed the Pergola with a centre Pyramid that would capture light to be directed into the kitchen & lounge room. The remainder of his detail to attention with the blackbutt timber work & concealed gutters around the pyramid was a credit to his ability to foresee the final result as we saw it come together.
Since then we have called upon Craig's (Adbuild) services to complete further works at our property with a side extension of the pergola, Chook shed & Outer house shed. His skills at metal roofing are just as impressive as his building / carpentry skills. Our business relationship has developed into a close friendship which to date spans some 14 years. This friendship included his wedding reception being held at our home under the outdoor area that Craig had designed & constructed.

We sought the services of Adbuild to carry out a renovation of an old 1950's weatherboard beach cottage that we had purchased. We wanted to modernise the home while maintaining its unique character. We were extremely impressed with the high quality of Craig's workmanship, and Craig's extensive experience in the industry was of great assistance in helping us to put our ideas into reality. We found Craig to be extremely punctual, reliable and a great communicator which put our mind at ease. Even when we went on holidays Craig kept us up to date with the progress of the renovation with emails and photographs. We would not hesitate to recommend him to any prospective clients.

Elsiemer, Long Jetty, Central Coast, NSW - Units & Duplexes
My dealings with Adbuild Constructions (Mr Craig Smythe) spans over ten years. Consultation was originally initiated when Adbuild Constructions was invited to tender for the construction of my three unit strata titled development, at Long Jetimirety on the Central Coast of NSW. Adbuild Constructions was one of three companies invited to tender, with all three companies being evaluated and interviewed upon receiving their tendered price. Adbuild Constructions was not the cheapest nor the dearest at the time, however my initial perception was that this particular company headed by Mr Craig Smythe had an ability to commit to the project whilst bringing both residential and commercial building experience to the fore along with all the necessary insurances and warranties in place and up to date. A further check with the Department of Fair Trade revealed that no litigation claims had been brought forward against Mr Craig Smythe or his company. Adbuild Constructions contractual documentation was of a high standard which included a program of works which depicted the time line for construction. It became apparent during the initial construction phase that organisational, time management and the ability to multi task were all strengths which assisted the project in moving forward which allowed me to organise additional trades to undertake works outside of the Adbuild Constructions contract. Whilst there were variations (both contractual deductions and additional payments) to the tendered amount, these were all due to positive changes that were made onsite to improve the project. The flexibility and working relationship formed throughout the project enabled me to bring the project in on time and within budget which in turn created a marketable product for sale.
Adbuild Constructions was again invited several years later to tender for the construction of my two unit torrens titled development at Bateau Bay on the Central Coast of NSW. Two additional companies were again also invited to tender. As a result of the evaluation and interviews conducted of the tenders received, it became apparent that the previous working relationship formed and the success of the development at Long Jetty it was difficult to bypass Adbuild Constructions. The construction process of the development at Bateau Bay mirrored imaged the one in Long Jetty thereby expanding on the working relationship formed during the project.
Both developments today present just as well as they did when construction was completed. This alone is a testament to the quality and workmanship of all the trades people involved, however it was the overall management, commitment and organisational skills and working relationship between myself and Adbuild Construction that made the projects successful.
I have no hesitation in recommending Craig Smythe (Adbuild Constructions) to anyone that is looking to undertake construction of unit developments, residential building or dwelling renovations. The attention to detail in both the documentation and construction stages, highlight the professional attitude Craig possesses towards his work along with his ability to create effective working relationships with his cliental.
